God's city

[Original in Spanish]

From the January 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

At times in my life I have experienced profoundly the healing power of an acceptance and understanding of the divine idea of Church—"the structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle," Science and Health, p. 583. as defined in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy But one time in particular I succeeded in seeing the saving nature of this radiant structure of spiritual reality—the saving omnipotence of Truth and Love.

The city where I live was at the time convulsed and greatly terrorized by unprecedented looting and vandalism. The atmosphere of fear and uncertainty seemed to dominate everyone's thought.

One heard alarming rumors continually. The sense of insecurity grew, and it seemed as if no law was respected. The members of our Christian Science branch church were alert and prayed "without ceasing," as the Bible expresses it.
