As we move toward the next century, everything seems to be speeding up. Computers and electronic networking make it easier for us to get more done in less time. Data on almost any subject are available at our fingertips. We get news and information almost instantly via satellite.
We are more "informed" than any previous generation on earth. Yet at the same time something inside us keeps telling us that "having information" is not necessarily synonymous with "having answers."
Our busy days might have us postponing the search for answers to our deepest questions, but it's not possible just to avoid those questions. They keep resurfacing in our quieter moments. And they're essentially the same ones people have always asked: Who am I, and what does my life mean?
