Demonstrating our God-given, inviolable mental integrity

From the August 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Every day, every hour, we are deluged by thoughts and images from friends and co-workers, from various public media. How often do we really take time to consider their value or impact on our lives? And if some of the thoughts and images current in the general mental atmosphere aren't beneficial, can we be strong enough to resist them?

Christian Science answers this last question with a very emphatic "yes!" Through the understanding that God is the only Mind we can demonstrate inviolable mental integrity.

The Bible says, "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."  II Tim. 1:7. Freedom to think rightly, without mental interference, is a precious, God-given capacity. And because the good God gives is permanent and unassailable, this mental freedom literally cannot be taken away.
