The Board of Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society, with our concurrence, is pleased to announce the appointment of Al M. Carnesciali of Costa Mesa, California, to the Board of Trustees of the Publishing Society, effective June 1, 1991. Mr. Carnesciali will fill the position created through the resignation of Jean Stark Hebenstreit.
Mr. Carnesciali brings to the Trusteeship a wealth of knowledge and experience both from a business career and from service to The Mother Church. During the late 1960s and early 1970s he worked at The Mother Church in various administrative capacities. He holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of California at Los Angeles, and early in his career was city manager for Imperial Beach, California. He also held several management positions in the aerospace industry. During the past eight years he has been Committee on Publication for Southern California. He is a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science and holds his class and association in Newport Beach, California. We appreciate Al's willingness to serve as a Trustee along with John H. Hoagland, Jr., and Hal M. Friesen, Chairman.
We once again express our deep appreciation to Jean Hebenstreit for her selfless dedication to the Cause of Christian Science. This time our gratitude is for her contribution as a Trustee during this historic period of The Christian Science Publishing Society. Special thanks are due her for her metaphysical talks given throughout the Field to correct misinformation about the direction and emphasis of The Christian Science Monitor in its print and broadcast forms. Most recently these talks were given in conjunction with presentations by the Manager of the Publishing Society, Netty Douglass. Much progress in bringing about unity of purpose has resulted. Jean continues to reside in Kansas City, Missouri, and is busy with her practice and teaching. Our best wishes to Jean and family.
