Testimonies of Healing

"What, time I am afraid, I will trust in thee

From the September 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"What, time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust" (Psalms). Trusting in God, praising His power and government of His creation, has given me courage many times when I have felt afraid. There is no time or situation when we cannot acknowledge to ourselves that there is only one power, God, and that God is All and wholly good.

In the spring of 1984 my husband and I were traveling with friends in France. Before meeting up with them, we had spent several weeks in England, gathering and copying materials for a book. Our friends wanted to visit the studio of a famous artist, so we all drove there in a car we had rented. After touring the studio, we returned to the car to find that a window of the car had been broken and that our bags, including those with the weeks of research, were gone.

Because we are all students of Christian Science, we turned to God. We said scarcely a word to one another; instead, we were thinking about Mind's control and rulership over its creation, which includes its perfect spiritual children, who have everything they need directly from their Father-Mother God. We each were refusing to give assent to a power or intelligence apart from the divine Mind, God.
