Many of us would accept the thought that God created everything that exists. But how do we conceive of the creator? Some may liken Him to a potter who forms his vessels of clay— earth—and who then simply destroys those creations that went awry. The Bible tells us something quite different. It assures us that God is Spirit. Spirit cannot produce its opposite, matter. So from this we can see that God's creation is spiritual and expresses His divine nature.
Christ Jesus revealed the creator to us as the heavenly Father. He brought us the gospel —the good news—that we are in reality God's offspring. As God's children we have inherited only spiritual qualities. The Apostle Paul writes, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and jointheirs with Christ."Rom. 8:16, 17.
What a glorious message! We are not frail, miscreated mortals but are, rather, children of God, Spirit. Man is in fact the highest idea of His creation and reflects all of God's qualities.
