From the September 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am very grateful that my mother became interested in Christian Science when I was a young child. This occurred after an aunt invited her to attend a Christian Science lecture. The lecturer's clear explanation of the nature of God as Spirit, as an all-loving Father, and of man as His beloved child, was deeply inspiring to my mother. She began attending a local branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and she enrolled my sister and me in the Sunday School.

My sister and I had many healings while we were growing up, including those of diseases commonly associated with childhood, a broken arm, and symptoms of appendicitis.

After we each married and had children of our own, they too experienced many wonderful healings. My son was healed of heavy, periodic nosebleeds, and my daughter was healed of a very painful condition on the sole of her foot. I've always loved this statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
