Sunday services: banquets of spiritual truth

From the September 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

What makes a Sunday church service inspiring? Is it the opportunity we have to gain a greater understanding of God? Is it the healing that we experience through hearing God's word? Is it the communal joining together to praise God and to rejoice in His glory?

Aren't we all hungering and thirsting for
spiritual nourishment? The Bible promises that
such hungering and thirsting will be assuaged.

Obviously, we want services to be inspired and healing, but how can we reach this goal? Appreciating the individual elements built into each service can enrich our attendance and nourish our desire for spiritual growth.
