I would like to testify to a healing I had through turning to God in prayer, as taught in Christian Science. My wife and I were staying overnight at a hotel, as we were scheduled to fly out of the country early the following day. Whilst we were having dinner in the hotel restaurant, my wife noticed blood on the carpet. On looking down I realized that varicose veins in my leg had burst. My wife assisted me to our room. She cleaned my leg and made me comfortable, and then reported what had happened to the manager of the hotel, apologizing for the damage done to the carpet.
On her return to the room we both turned to God in prayer. We declared that God was all-powerful. We considered the synonyms for God which Mrs. Eddy found through study of the Bible. These synonyms are: Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love. We acknowledged God as the only cause and creator. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health: "There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause." We prayed to understand more of God's infinitude.
After about twenty minutes there was a knock at the door. The man standing there said he was a doctor and had been sent by the hotel management. My wife kindly thanked him, saying "All is well." He asked if he might just check to see if this was so. We had no objection to this, because we knew God's work was already done. When he lifted the covering on the leg, he was impressed with the quick healing that was happening and noted the ruptures were now sealed.
