In the years since my introduction to Christian Science, I have been the grateful recipient of many blessings. There are three healing experiences I would like to tell about.
After a fall, I was taken to a Christian Science nursing facility and lovingly cared for during a period when one obviously broken leg mended. There was very little pain, but when the leg mended, it was a couple of inches shorter than the other.
I prayed in Christian Science to heal this condition, using the spiritual truths found in passages from the Bible and the various writings of Mrs. Eddy. I learned this paragraph from Science and Health by heart and kept it very constantly before my thought: "The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the manifestations of which are health, purity, and self-immolation, must deepen human experience, until the beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposition, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to God's spiritual, perfect man." I realized that these "calm, strong currents" do not come from personal ability but from ever-present divine Love, or God.
