After I've written something, I try to become the reader's advocate. That is, I go through the article as though I were a reader instead of the author. I try to step into the other fellow's shoes, perhaps a relative newcomer to the teachings of Christian Science. I ask what the different concepts in the article mean, and I work further on the article until I think the answers are clear and readily graspable. Love for the reader and for the spiritual ideas I'm striving to express empowers this type of self-editing.
