I was brought up in a family where we were encouraged to use what we were being taught in the home and in the Christian Science Sunday School to solve all of our problems. So it has always been natural for me to turn to God in prayer for guidance whenever I am confronting some difficulty.
Over the years, as a result of my own prayers and sometimes with the prayer of a Christian Science practitioner, I have experienced quick healings of sickness. Also, lost articles have been found, success in examinations has been achieved, and a happy marriage and home have been established. These are but a few of the rewards that have come about through recognition and acceptance of the fact that God is the provider of all good.
One particular healing occurred while my wife and I were serving as Readers in our local branch church. My wife and I were enjoying an evening of Scottish country dancing when someone behind me accidentally knocked one of my feet from under me. There was an audible crack in the foot as I fell onto a nearby chair. Both my wife and I recognized that God is forever upholding man, and as my wife drove us home, we continued to affirm that man can never be outside of God's loving care.
