NotaBene

From the March 1992 issue of The Christian Science Journal

El Monitor de Hoy, a daily Spanish-language newscast produced by The Monitor Channel, is now available to the large Spanish-speaking audience that tunes in to Miavision, a cable station reaching some 70,000 viewers in south Florida.

The half-hour broadcast is shown twice daily. El Monitor de Hoy has been added to Miavision's program schedule because of El Monitor's coverage of world events and its Spanish-language format. It will reach viewers in Dade County, Florida's largest county, with the largest number of Spanish-speaking people in the state.

The World Service of The Christian Science Monitor broadcasts to Europe and Africa from its powerful 500-kilowatt shortwave transmitter near Greenbush, Maine. The Syndicate acquired nearby farm property in 1988 with the intent of providing a baseball field to the town of Greenbush. On November 11, 1991, deed to the Banks Farm in Greenbush was given to town officials during ceremonies conducted on the farm property.
