"There am I in the midst of them"

From the March 1992 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Bible promises people who seek to know God, divine Truth itself, "Ye shall ... find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jer. 29:13.

Christ Jesus taught the truth; he spoke the truth; he lived the truth. So powerfully clear was the truthfulness of his life, that for those needing healing, the godliness he revealed destroyed the bondage of sin, sickness, and even death.

But what is Truth? This age-old question is what we need to answer. A dictionary says that truth is "a statement of fact." And a fact is something that can be proved. Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32. When you know something, you are convinced of it, you have no doubt about it. You have a clear perception of a thing and understand it.
