The first few lines of a favorite hymn have these words: "From sense to Soul my pathway lies before me, /From mist and shadow into Truth's clear day" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 64). These words express my feelings of joy and gratitude to be a student of Christian Science.
Over the years I have experienced healings of sore throat, broken bones, influenza, fever, and a stomach ulcer. Also, I've had demonstrations of God's power in finding supply, employment, and right companionship. Since it is my practice to turn to Christian Science for all healing, I have had so many proofs of His care.
About five years ago, I began to have pain in my feet and ankles when I walked. I prayed to allay fear that a disease was developing. A study of the Bible and the works of Mary Baker Eddy made it clear to me that disease is not created by God. "Disease has no intelligence to declare itself something and announce its name" (Science and Health, p. 391). I began to understand that only false, material belief and fear were preventing the healing.
