. . . and the bookstores of State College, Pennsylvania

From the November 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I was recently asked by our Christian Science Reading Room librarian to investigate getting Science and Health into local bookstores. At first I found this task daunting. I wasn't sure how to present myself or what I needed to do. So, I began by going to God in prayer. I had to remove the fear that I would fail, that somehow I wouldn't have the intelligence or know-how.

I thought about my motive, that it was to bless our community by putting this book in locations where it would reach those who might not come into a Reading Room. It was also an opportunity to bring enlightenment to my community by letting bookstores and their customers know what this book has done for the world.

That got me out of my chair and into action. I live in a college town with seven bookstores. Three of them are college bookstores that also have a general reading section.
