To our readers...

From the Publishing Director's Office

From the December 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mary Baker Eddy established the Christian Science Sentinel "to hold guard over Truth, Life, and Love" The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany; p. 353. and chose as its motto Jesus' directive "... what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." Mark 13:37. The Christmas season provides a special opportunity for each individual to take on the work of holding guard and watching, and the Sentinel provides an indispensable tool to accomplish this work.

This year, as a special gift to new Sentinel subscribers and gift donors, we're offering a complimentary cassette of the Christian Science Sentinel—Radio Edition with orders received by January 15, 1995. Both print and radio editions of the Sentinel are uniquely equipped to awaken, restore, and inspire. You may take advantage of this special gift offer by calling our Subscriber Services Center at 1-800-456-4851. Outside the United States and Canada, call our London Office at (081) 543-9393. Sentinel subscriptions are available for three-month, six-month, or one-year periods starting at US$22 within North America, and six-month or one-year subscriptions starting at US$37.50 outside of North America.

In the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, we read that "the Sunday lesson" is "a lesson on which the prosperity of Christian Science largely depends." Manual, Art. III, Sect. 1. The Christian Science Publishing Society provides several means for studying these important Lessons through the various editions of the Christian Science Quarterly.
