I should like to thank the writer of the article entitled "Environmental tragedy is not inevitable," which appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel* dated 21st February 1994. I found it quite inspiring. ... It reminded me of something that happened about a year ago....

Last year I heard that the mighty Limpopo River—in Mozambique—had dried up completely after years of drought.

Rescuers had put a lot of effort into saving the hippopotamuses and transporting them to a new location, but I heard nothing about any efforts to save the people who lived by the river, and depended on it. I was very concerned and decided to pray about the situation.
