There's really no night there

From the August 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When nights seem dark and endless,
Restless, sleepless,
Fraught with fear and worldly care,
I turn to God and hear an angel message say:
"Awake, arise, watch and pray."

The clear shining of divine Love's light
Reveals God's gentleness and might.
I feel Love's presence all around.
I see I am God's child, beloved, protected—
Never forgotten or neglected.

The terror of the dark is now disarmed;
I know I am safe from harm.
The gloom of dark despair is dispersed,
The grip of grief and fear unclasped.
The mortal dream of God's absence is past.

With gratitude I claim Love's care
And see there's really no night there.
And when the new day dawns, I rise
Renewed, at peace, inspired, blessed,
Refreshed by Love's sweet, heavenly rest.
