Spiritual reality: basis for Christian Science practice

From the August 1995 issue of The Christian Science Journal

What motivates someone to devote full time to the practice of Christian Science? I feel it was divine impulsion in my case. Here's how it came about many years ago.

My wife and I were fairly young parents with three small children. I was prospering in my business career, determined I was going to be a successful businessman. And equally determined to provide well for my family.

I loved Christian Science and rarely missed a Sunday or Wednesday church service. I read the Bible Lesson every day. But I guess I left it to my wife to take care of the children's health needs. I thought I was doing my part by providing income to take care of the family.
