Christian Science came to me when a workmate introduced me to it. I had been going to hospital for daily electric shock treatment to keep finger movement happening. A felt collar was placed round my neck, and I was told they would then need to make a plastic collar for me to wear in connection with the therapy.
When my workmate saw me next, he told me he was confident that God would give me all the support I needed, and he gave me two Christian Science Sentinels to read. I did read them, and began to have regular discussions with my friend about Christian Science. He supplied more magazines.
When the hospital notified me that the collar was ready, I went and collected it. But when I came out of the hospital, I put it in the car boot. The very next day I rang the hospital up and informed them I did not require any more treatment from them, and thanked them for their service; of course, I had decided to trust God at that point.
