Serene and solitary the Master stood
In momentous days long past.
The tempest's raging onslaught could
No harm upon him cast.
Rejection, ridicule, and scorn—
Their brief appearance quickly vanished
like shafts of lightning in a storm,
When by God's law they were banished.
Swirling winds of doubt he stilled,
Darkest clouds of fear he dispelled;
By him the sunlight of Truth was revealed,
Glorious gospel for all to tell.
Now, Christ, Truth, with fanfare sounding,
Proclaims "God's law doth ever heal,"
Heralding, impelling, our own awakening
With the heavenly call:
"Peace, be still." Mark 4:39.
