Whether slow or fast, healing is inevitable

From the February 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The words "slow or fast" kept coming to me one day. As I thought more about them, I recalled part of a poem written by Mary Baker Eddy. It is the section "To the Big Children," and reads,

Father-Mother good, lovingly
Thee I seek,—
Patient, meek,
In the way Thou hast,—
Be it slow or fast,
Up to Thee. Poems, p. 69 .

I wondered how those words related to some problems for which I was seeking solutions through Christian Science. Then several past healings, of sickness, pain, unemployment, came to mind. Some of these healings had been immediate, like a light switch being turned on—just that quick! At other times the healing came more slowly—but when it did come, it was decisive and complete. I became convinced that evil can never overthrow eternal, divine Truth.
