Psalm 139

From the June 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

David, to the chief Musician,
Spoke of God who searches and who knows.
God spoke to him in heartfelt, holy symbols.
God spoke in symbols centuries ago.

Lord, likewise, speak to me now
The words that quiet my despair.
Tell me You are here when I'm downfallen,
And promise at my rising You'll be there.

Acquaint me with You, I pray,
Be with me as You always have in the path that I have trod.
Though you know every word my tongue will speak,
Yet I must still acquaint myself with God.
