Mother to son—a prayer

From the October 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Strength be with your strivings, son
to silence fear and overcome
the falsehoods that would hide or still
the thoughts that yearn to do God's will.

Peace be to you, gentle boy,
the peace that Love alone can give.
A peace that ends in quiet joy
and stems from Mind, in whom we live.

The Father's strength, the Mother's love
is ever yours through Christ, divine.
Your selfhood here, not just above,
to know, to live, to feel—as thine.
