The town of Between

What can we do about a world that seems not totally
evil, but also not entirely good?

From the October 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On route 78, halfway between Atlanta and Athens, stands the town of Between, Georgia. It's a wonderful little town. What makes it more significant to me is that its name could be said to describe where many of us may believe we live in the mental geography.

We may think of ourselves as not entirely good, but not completely bad either. We believe we're somewhere in between. We may at times find our work or our personal lives neither wonderful nor intolerable. They are somewhere in between.

God's offspring aren't
in a tug of war between
matter and Spirit.
