Oh, how grateful I am to God! Christian Science illumines the Scriptures. I have seen my Father-Mother's love at work in everyday life with wonderful results. Numerous healings mark my progress Spiritward and are cause for heartfelt gratitude.
At the age of twelve, I was impressed when a sister was rescued from a decrepit well when our family reached out in prayer to God. "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help" (Ps. 121:1) was a Bible verse we had studied in the Christian Science Sunday School the previous week. Our Sunday School teacher had explained how we could "look up," away from the material evidence, to God for our help. This thought led me to find a large rope, coiled up in the ceiling of a disused outbuilding. The rope was of sufficient length to carry out the rescue.
To me this was a clear indication of God's ever-present help. I became deeply committed to Christian Science as a way of life, and it has never failed to inspire me to turn to God for healing.
