Business conflict resolved; son quickly healed of injury

From the February 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For a number of years I was a real estate broker and loan officer. On one particular transaction, the clients came to me for help in obtaining pre-approval on a loan. One of the lenders I used frequently supplied the necessary letter, and the clients were then able to proceed with the building of their home.

When we put the final loan paperwork together and sent it off to the lender, however, we were shocked to learn the clients were denied the loan for which they had been given pre-approval.

Initially I was angry and confused at what I felt had been a lack of thoroughness on the part of the loan manager I had been dealing with. But as I prayed, I was able to calm my thinking and gain a clearer view of this individual as the perfect, flawless child of God. With a fresh sense of purpose and direction, I repackaged the loan. Within twenty-four hours I had a full, final loan approval from a different lender. It was, however, at a higher interest rate, which led to hard feelings on the part of my clients, and they decided to take their business to a competitor instead.
