Reading other people's testimonies has always been so inspiring to me, and now I would like to add my own. Being born into a loving family of Christian Scientists, I learned by heart many helpful passages from the Bible, Science and Health, and the Christian Science Hymnal that give assurances of God's care for us all. I have had some quick healings, but I should like to tell of one that took longer and needed persistence in prayer.
All my remaining
fear dissolved,
and the complete
healing started
in earnest.
When my father, husband, and brother passed on within a few years of each other, my sense of loss was very great. My children were in their early teens, and I felt so responsible for them. Within a short time my hands became covered with itching spots that rapidly became festered and swollen and needed to be cleaned and bandaged daily by a Christian Science nurse. I found this condition frightening and inconvenient, as I had to wear gloves to do household chores and when I went outside. I dreaded putting my hands in water.
