Knowing how much God loves us and understanding Him better gives us a lot of unfoldment and a new grasp of spirituality. I found this out when I started applying divine Science in all my doings as the result of a lifelong search for a more complete understanding of the Supreme Being.
In mid-October of 1995, just before I was to take a school examination, my teacher and I were involved in an accident. Our bicycle was severely damaged. I lost consciousness as a result of banging my head on the rear of a truck. When I regained consciousness, I realized that I was on my way to the hospital. I had pain all over, and my right hand was swollen. When I managed to compose my thought, I asked the kind people who were taking me to the hospital if they would take me home instead, which they did.
On reaching home, I managed to get to my bed, although it was an effort. As I prayed, I reached out to my pastor, the Bible and Science and Health, which I consulted. What came to mind was "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health. It begins: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter" (p. 468). I continued praying, refusing to let fear take over my thinking and knowing that I live and move in God's embrace, where there can never be an accident.
