From time to time the Journal will address questions on Christian Science treatment and practice

From the January 2000 issue of The Christian Science Journal

From time to time the Journal will address questions on Christian Science treatment and practice.

Question: Science and Health says, "If the case is that of a young child or an infant, it needs to be met mainly through the parent's thought, silently or audibly on the aforesaid basis of Christian Science." Science and Health, p. 412. Then is it my fault when my child is sick?

Answer: Guilt or condemnation certainly isn't the point of this instruction. That a young child's case can be handled through the parent's thought is actually good news, as well as helpful instruction.
