CHRISTIAN SCIENCE TREATMENT

Refuse to be a mortal believer!

The best way to develop confidence in God's power is to follow Christ Jesus' example.

From the January 2000 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science Healing does not involve struggling to change a sick person into a well person. It takes place as a natural result of deep and consecrated prayer based on the truth of immortal man as the image and likeness of God, always in flawless health. This prayer replaces in one's individual thinking the belief in a sick mortal with what is always true of God's man. The power to accomplish this "replacing" comes from the unquestionable spiritual fact of man's oneness with God.

How does one reach the mental standpoint that naturally acknowledges such unquestionable oneness with God and so refuses to be a believer in sickness? I've found that the best way to do this is to follow Christ Jesus' example.

Jesus said, "I and my Father are one." John 10:30. The Master was so imbued with this spiritual sense of oneness that he never set himself apart from his beloved Father. "The Son can do nothing of himself," he declared, "but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth." John 5:19, 20.
