The Seventieth Psalm has this heading: "To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance." And it advises, "Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified." Ps. 70:4.The prophet Samuel, recalling divine help, set up a stone for a memorial and said, "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us." I Sam. 7:12. And these words of Christ Jesus certainly prompt us to remember and acknowledge the divine source working in us for good: "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do." John 5:19.
Gratitude helps us discover anew how good God is.
Recognizing what the Father has done in specific instances of healing allows gratitude for those healings to expand so that we learn their divine lessons. We discover anew how good God is and how universal His blessings are. We gain confidence in the activity of Christ, the timeless saving power of God, to reveal the perfection of God's creation, and consequently destroy the evidence of ill health, uncivilized behavior, immorality. Our consistent witnessing of divine activity will strengthen our prayers to bless not only us but others seeking help from God.
