Testimonies of Healing

Chest pains healed

From the January 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I HAD A HEALING LAST FALL that has meant a lot to me, because I felt so quickly supported and cared for by God.

One Friday morning I experienced episodes of painful tightening in my chest and upper body. I felt fine in between these episodes, but I had to stop what I was doing during them and concentrate on some simple spiritual truth until they ended. I thought of what Mary Baker Eddy says in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "Man is tributary to God, Spirit, and to nothing else. God's being is infinity, freedom, harmony, and boundless bliss" (p. 481). I knew that God loved me and could not make anything that could cause me pain or fear.

That day and the next, I was able to spend time quietly praying, and I felt increasingly more peaceful and less fearful.
