FROM THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Elections and appointments

From the July 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We are happy to confirm the election of Candace du Mars, C.S.B., of Olympia, Washington, as First Reader of The Mother Church, and William E. Moody, C.S.B., of New Orleans, Louisiana, as Second Reader, as of June 4, 2001.

The retiring readers, Tom Black and Pat Hyatt, will have a dear place in the records of this Church. So very many longtime members, along with many new people in the congregation, have expressed thanks for the warm and healing tone that has filled the services during their time at the Readers' desks.

Candace du Mars is bringing to her new office gifts she employed communicating the Word during her nine years on the Board of Lectureship. As a lecturer, Candace has spoken to seekers of many backgrounds and interests. This experience, as well as her work as a Christian Science practitioner and teacher, provides a strong foundation for her reading assignment.
