Healed of migraine headaches

From the July 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Before I started the study of Christian Science, I frequently suffered from migraine headaches. After I began to study Christian Science, I would often call a Christian Science, practitioner to pray with me during these Usually the pain would decrease greatly and the length of time that the headaches lasted would lessen. But they still reoccurred.

Then, during one episode, something wonderful happened. I had been praying by vehemently affirming the truth of God's healing presence. I was also denying the error that there is another power beside God. When I called the practitioner, she reassured me with spiritual truths and told me that she would begin to pray for me.

When I hung up the phone, I continued my efforts to see that this pain could not be any part of my identity as God's reflection. But still the pain persisted. Discouraged, I phoned the practitioner again and told her, "I've been affirming the truth and denying error and affirming the truth and denying error, and I can't do it anymore. I'm pooped."
