I loved your focus issue on the 2002 Annual meeting & Conference of The Mother Church. I was one of the participants and have loved sharing what I learned with friends and church members.
I also want to share with you the attraction this issue had to one person in our small community. I arrived about an hour early to prepare for the service at our Christian Science Society. I noticed a truck pull up. I went outside to see what the person needed. I saw a copy of the Journal (August issue) on his front seat. He said that somebody's subscription had accidentally been sent to the place where he works, and he was curious and read the magazine. A few more copies came, and he enjoyed them so much that he sent for his own subscription. He told me he wanted to learn more about "this book," as he flipped the Journal over and pointed to the picture of Science and Health. I told him he could purchase the book in our Reading Room, and invited him in. He also inquired about the Bible Lessons, and informed me that he studies the Bible every day. I gave him a copy of the Full Text Quarterly booklet. He continued to say he was most interested in learning more about Mary Baker Eddy and wanted to read a biography of her. He said he would come back and visit after reading Science and Health. Dolores, Colorado
Although I am not a member of any branch church or of The Mother Church, I do consider your publications to be an important part of my spiritual study. I was dissapointed in the August issue, devoted solely to the Annual Meeting. I hope that in the future you will include at least a few metaphysical articles in every issue of the magazine.
