A couple of years ago I noticed that a small growth had formed at the corner of one eye, under the skin. Initially I thought very little about it, but after several days it became more uncomfortable and pronounced.
But I'd been thinking about this idea from Science and Health: "We apprehend Life in divine Science only as we live above corporeal sense and correct it" (p. 167). I knew I needed to see life as God was seeing it — not just to "live above" what the body was telling me, but to "correct" it mentally. I was eager to begin. I was determined to correct my material view of things and see what was true about God and His completely good creation. The results of this were wonderful. I prayed more frequently— when I was confronted with emergencies, extreme weather conditions, time restraints, unhappy employees, unsafe driving, or when I saw people who were homeless and unemployed. No matter what chaotic or distressful images I saw, I mentally corrected those images by consciously realizing — and feeling — that God had tender control over His entire creation.
I needed to see life as God was seeing it.
