THE MOMENTUM CONTINUES

People taking action

FROM THE 2002 ANNUAL MEETING & CONFERENCE

From the October 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

At the 2002 Annual Meeting & Conference of The Church of Christ, Scientist, participants embraced three overarching messages: the universality of Christian Science; Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as a resource for everyone; and Mary Baker Eddy's design for a Church to respond to today's demand for spiritual answers. We are inspired by the notes and e-mails we continue to receive from friends and members who have been motivated by these ideas in their interactions with fellow seekers. Here are a few examples.

I am involved with a group in my city called The Unity and Action Committee. This group is sponsored by a downtown Christian Science Reading Room, maintained by several branches. Although we had been sharing Science and Health before Annual meeting, the meeting fueled our enthusiasm and commitment to this activity. We recently had an event celebrating Science and Health and are sharing the book at a Black Expo, Woman's Expo, and Spanish Expo. Several members are getting together to have an office for the practice [of Christian Science] since going to Annual Meeting.
