Every couple of months, I look forward to the two hours or so at Donna's station in the hair salon. Not only do we laugh and swap family news, but we talk politics, current events, and spirituality. No subject is off-limits. So it's always a lively conversation.
Tucked into this afternoon's salon chatter was the standard, "Great hair ... thick ... love it!" As she snipped, a wave of gratitude washed over me. There was a time years ago when my shabby tresses would have produced quite a different response.
