From 1983 to 1990, I suffered from severe asthma. Even the smallest things seemed to bring on an attack: exposure to dust, perfume, and cigarette smoke, as well as eating certain types of food. During these attacks, I could not sleep at night. My life was extremely difficult.
One night, as I was unable to sleep because of yet another attack, I turned on my radio and came across a program produced in Boston called Le Héraut de la Science Chrétienne. So I started listening. Someone was saying that evil is unreal, that sickness has no power over us, that God created us in His image, and that we cannot be the victim of sickness. I thought, “What is this? I need to learn more about it!”
The next morning, I wrote to the address that was mentioned at the end of the broadcast, and three weeks later I received the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I flipped through the pages and started reading the testimonies of healing at the end of the book, because they really caught my attention.
