Prior to his report, Lyon Osborn, Treasurer of The Mother Church, remarked on a video that described how the Christian Science Plaza is blessing the community. He said, “The love, expressed in the video we just saw, is shared by workers around the Church Center.” He went on:
And [that love] has been reinforced by the Board’s suggestion that we study Mary Baker Eddy’s article “The Way” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, pp. 355–359) in preparation for this global meeting.
As I studied the article, I thought about how the three stages of mental growth required for Christian Science demonstration—self-knowledge, humility, and love—relate to the proper management of Church funds and to the responsible stewardship of its assets.
