Testimonies of Healing

Gaming addiction healed

From the September 2013 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Several years ago I started working for a bank, and most of my job required working on a computer. I was fascinated by it and bought a computer for myself to use at home.

When I retired from the bank, there would be times during the day when I would have to wait a while for a digital file to open because my Internet connection was so slow. During that time I’d play computer games. At first it was not so much because I loved playing them, but because I was impatient. Over time I became addicted to the games.

Soon, anytime I was waiting for something to open on the computer, I’d go back to a game. I was on the computer most of the time, and sometimes I’d play as much as half of the day, as many as 300 games. It came to a point where I knew I had to stop, so I deleted the whole folder of games from my computer. But I soon found myself going on my smartphone and playing the same games.
