It’s common for people who embrace Christian Science to feel that its explanation of Bible truths is the greatest blessing in their lives: that God is Spirit, wholly good, and the creator of a spiritual, sinless universe that is the only reality. They understand this isn’t just beautiful theory but can be proved through practical healing of bad things. They also find doing this consistently takes extraordinary, sustained commitment to living a Spirit-centered life.
Christ Jesus is the example of doing just that. He proved God’s reality by healing sickness and sin. Those who strive to follow his instruction to do the same continually want to know how to do it better.
One crucial answer is to overcome mental resistance to Christ-healing. This resistance comes from the general belief that matter constitutes and controls life, as well as the religious teaching that God created a material universe and gave human beings the will to sin. These mistaken views are so pervasive that we tend to get lulled into accepting that we can’t—or don’t want to—devote ourselves to the spirituality that heals as naturally as Jesus did.
