The twenty-third Psalm and prayer about home

From the September 2019 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy says, “Home is the dearest spot on earth, and it should be the centre, though not the boundary, of the affections” (p. 58). I’d like to share a few instances where I found a home through relying on prayer and turning to God, particularly through working with the ideas in the twenty-third Psalm in the Bible. It’s a perfect place to start.

The first verse of Psalm 23 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” God provides us with what we need, whether it be a “green pasture” to stay in, or “still waters” to rest beside.

To experience this, I had to overcome bitterness and have an expectation of good.
