I am so grateful for all of the Christian Science periodicals! They are a lifeline to me when I need encouragement and fresh inspiration. They helped bring about two quick healings that took place within a fairly short succession.
The first happened this way. One morning I got out of bed and, for no apparent reason, was unable to raise my arms more than halfway up without pain. I wasn’t sure I would be able to drive to work safely in this condition, so I called a Christian Science practitioner. Over the next several days, I prayed sporadically to shift my thought away from matter to Spirit. However, I wasn’t feeling much progress.
I turned to the latest issue of the Journal for some uplift. As I finished reading the testimonies section, this thought came to me: “All of the spiritual facts that brought about the healings you just read are true about you!” This simple realization sank in with certainty and joy, and I absolutely knew that God, the sole creator, had formed me as spiritual, not material.
