Neck pain gone

From the March 2021 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One Friday morning, I woke up with discomfort on the right side of my neck. I had a busy weekend ahead of me, so I soldiered on. By Sunday morning, the discomfort had escalated to pain in my neck and arm, and I couldn’t turn my head or raise my hands.

I realized that I needed to pause and actually pray about this situation. I was doing some grocery shopping, so right there in the ladies’ room beside the frozen foods aisle, I got quiet and sincerely committed to communing with God.

In my prayerful “meetings” with God, I’ve found it’s usually better if I just listen, rather than telling God all my problems. God is always speaking to us, and our job is to acknowledge this and obey His leadings. When we subdue a focus on self, we can better hear what God, Truth, is communicating about Himself and about us, God’s spiritual offspring.
