“The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 574). We had an experience that demonstrated the truth of this quotation.
In the 1970s my husband and I owned a ranch in Wyoming, where we raised sheep. One evening in late spring the weather report predicted an unusual overnight storm that would bring at least six inches of snow. We were very concerned because lambing season had just ended, and each of our one hundred ewes had a little lambkin and seemingly no way to protect it.
We turned to God in prayer, asking for divine Mind’s guidance. We felt directed to gather the whole flock into a single small pasture, so no lambs could wander off during the night and become lost. We went to bed praying to feel God’s care and love for His creation.
