About twenty years ago I had an itchy rash on my body. I kept the affected areas covered with bandages to keep from scratching, and I was able to continue my teaching and other daily work. Since my clothes covered the bandages, no evidence of the problem was visible to cause comment. But the problem persisted for some time, so I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me.
During this time I was expecting a third room to be built on the back of my art studio. Contents for the new room filled my garage, waiting to be assembled, but the construction company was already two weeks past the promised starting date. I needed to be ready to teach my art classes in a few weeks, as this was my immediate source of income, and students were waiting.
I knew that the uncomfortable skin condition was not created by God, and I had been praying with the practitioner to see my freedom from it. One day as I sat at my desk, very concerned about the construction delay, it occurred to me that I had not been trusting God to govern this project. Suddenly I realized that God, infinite Mind, was powerful enough to take care of everything I needed. How could I not trust Him?
