An elastic state of thought—one in which fresh, spiritual insights are readily embraced—identifies a Christian. Also, a solid, steadfast state of consciousness is a very useful quality that identifies a Christian. When a Christian meekly prays and is filled with inspiration from God, divine Truth, nothing at all can move him or her away from it.
In considering the significance of an elastic perspective, Jesus pointed out the humble willingness of children. He said, “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:4). A childlike state of thought is easily led forward. It is a trustful perspective and, therefore, cheerfully changed and molded for the better.
Regarding steadfastness and solidity, Jesus told a parable: “And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock” (Matthew 7:25). The rock symbolizes the steadfast healing inspiration that God constantly provides each of us, His loved children.
